My story:
Bug came to Wriggly Roadshow as a rescue and was painfully thin when she arrived. With plenty of care, patience and nutritious food, she gradually transformed into the healthy, friendly little gecko she is today.
She now lives in her very own miniature jungle, which she shares with lots of her millipede friends. Bug is gentle and wonderfully relaxed around people, making her an excellent animal ambassador. She is also an exceptionally successful mum and has produced more than 50 babies during her lifetime!
DId you know?
Crested geckos were once thought to be extinct! The species was first described in 1866 but then vanished from scientific records for more than a century. In 1994, crested geckos were unexpectedly rediscovered on Île des Pins, an island belonging to New Caledonia. Today, descendants of that remarkable rediscovery have made crested geckos one of the world’s best-known pet lizards.
